    Product Overview:

Twin loop wire binding, while not the most popular binding format, is still considered by most to be one of the best looking and most popular binding formats used today. It can be used to bind business reports, college presentations and much more. The wire supplies themselves come in a wide range of colors and diameters. Color coordinating twin loop supplies with binding covers is extremely easy. One machine you may want to use is the Akiles iWire 21.

When it comes to binding, Akiles is by far the most popular brand, even more so than GBC. They manufacture comb, wire and coil binding machines. They even make machines that bind all three! Binding brands include MegaBind, WireMac and CoilMac. Their wire binding machines are some of the most common used today.

The iWire 21 is one of the latest developments to come out of Akiles. It is designed to be extremely affordable yet feature rich. Ulike many of Akiles' machines, the iWire does not feature all metal construction. This shouldn't shy you away though. It still features durable metal internal components while touting a classy-looking plastic shell. The build quality is still what you would expect from Akiles.

This particular iWire features a 2:1 pitch, which is essentially two holes punched per inch of paper. The 2:1 pitch hole spacing pattern is the most common used in wire binding. It ultimately creates about 22 to 23 holes along the 11" side of a sheet of paper. The supplies are commonly referred to as twin loop or double loop, thanks to the unique double wire appearance per punched hole.

The iWire includes a paper punch and a wire closer, which means it will start and complete the entire book binding process. All of this is combined in a compact and portable design. The paper support folds down into a dust cover and the punching handle folds down to the side of the machine. This design keeps it slim, allowing it to be placed in many desk drawers or cupboards. How many wire binding machines can do that? Very few.

The punching on this machine is done with a vertical punch. Because paper is vertical, instead of horizontal, the paper is jogged naturally by gravity, keeping the hole alignment straight and accurate. This helps to cut down on punching errors. It can be used to punch up to 15 sheets of 20# bond paper.

Once paper has been punched, wire can be inserted through the holes and closed using the integrated wire closing mechanism. The entire binding process can be completed in about a minute or two. This machine can be used to bind a book anywhere from 3/16" up to 1 1/4" thick. It even includes a convenient wire size selector tool and a wire holder.

As far as value is concerned, you aren't going to find many other machines out there with this many features for such a low price. This is a great way for any individual or person to begin wire binding books. Buy yours today!
