Paper Folder Guide
Why use a paper folder?
Paper folders are easy to operate and will save your company a lot of time and money.
Folding letters, forms and statements by hand takes a lot of labor hours, is tedious and is the source of numerous painful paper cuts. Paper folders can fold to anywhere from 4,000 to 115,000 sheets per hour depending on the machine you use. It would take a whole department of hourly paid employees to fold that many at that same rate.
Paper folders will benefit your company by:
- Increasing sheets folded per hour.
- Free up employees to work on other tasks.
- Reduce physical and mental fatigue.
- Save you money by increasing overall productivity.
- Increasing the types of folds you can create.

Things to consider before purchasing a paper folder:
What type of paper will be used?
There are numerous types of thick, thin or glossy paper. Different paper folders models feature different capabilities that affect how it folds paper. Make sure the paper folder you are using wont tear, crease or accordion the paper you use now and in the future.
How frequent will the paper folder be used?
Some paper folders are built for continual use while others are meant for occasional use. Whether your needs are for mass mailings or for an occasional sheet of paper, be sure you get a folder that will meet your work volume.
Is space limited?
Some paper folders are small enough to place on your desktop, while other large counters need a countertop. To maximize space for larger counters, you may want to consider mounting your counter on to a wheeled workstation that can be moved to various locations, to save space and to accommodate the workload.

Types of paper folders
Manual setup, auto-feed paper folders

Manual setup w/auto-feed folders are practical for medium to high-volume paper folding. Paper is placed in the feeder. The folding plates are manually adjusted to the exact fold-type desired. Motorized friction rollers then pull the paper from the feed tray and fold it to your specs.
