How To Choose The Best Paper Jogger

Paper Joggers Paper joggers square up paper after it has come off of a printer or out of a copy machine. These machines are very important for binding books, cutting paper, packaging, filing and much more. Paper joggers are very easy to set up and use. Almost any business that handles paper should use a paper jogger. Here are a few good questions and answers that may help you make a decision on a jogger.

How many sheets do you need to jog?

Paper joggers are designed to align large volumes of paper. Different paper joggers are capable of handling different amounts of paper. Some joggers have one single bin, where others have multiple bins. The more bins, the more paper the jogger can handle at a time. Each of our joggers state, on the product page, how much paper they can handle at a time.

How large is the paper you will be jogging?

Be sure to check out the maximum paper size dimensions on the paper jogger’s home page. Various paper joggers are capable of handling different sizes of paper. Using a jogger with paper that is too large will result in the paper flopping over and an angry operator. Be sure you get a paper jogger that handles current and future needs.

Do you need a flat or angled paper jogger?

The most common type of paper jogger is the angled paper jogger, which has an angle that sits around 45 to 60 degrees. The angle, along with the paper joggers vibrations, help to align and square up paper. Flat joggers are typically used to jog larger-sized documents, where an angled jogger simply will not work. There are also open sided joggers and enclosed joggers. Joggers with an open side are usually angled and tilted, making it easy to add and remove paper. Enclosed joggers, which are more common, have an open front and top, but both sides are enclosed.

Do you need a variable speed motor?

Some, not all, paper joggers have a variable speed motor. This means the operator can change the speed at which the jogger vibrates. Some people like to use different speeds based on the type of paper being used. Glossy paper is easier to jog than standard paper, requiring fewer vibrations. If you would like a variable speed motor, be sure to check the specifications of the jogger to see if this is an option.
