If you need to fold a lot of letter size or legal size documents on a daily basis, the Martin Yale 1611 may be a great option for you. This compact desktop letter folding machine is extremely easy to set up, is packed with features and may be a good option for your office or mailroom. It is designed to take paper and fold it quickly and accurately, eliminating the need to fold paper by hand and getting rid of badly folded invoices, letters and other paper.
Martin Yale is one of the leading manufacturers of paper folding machines. They are well known for such models as the 1501x and 1217a. They currently make about 10 different models of machines, depending on the needs of the office, the size of the paper that needs to be folded and the amount of paper that needs to be folded per day.
The Martin Yale 1611 Ease-of-Use AutoFolder is a manual setup, automatic feed folding machine. This means the fold settings need to be manually set up via the folding plates and the paper is fed into them machine automatically one sheet at a time. This setup takes just minutes to set up and with an operational speed of 9,000 sheets per hour, it can quickly complete your business's paper folding jobs.
The feed tray on the 1611 can hold up to 150 sheets of standard 20# bond paper at a time. It will pull a sheet from the top of the stack until the entire stack of paper has been folded. Unlike many other Martin Yale folding machines, that require setting up the friction wheels, the 1611 uses a drop-in feeding system that does not require the paper to be pre-fanned prior to insertion. This is a huge improvement over older Martin Yale machines and makes it a viable contender with other comparable machines.
This machine is capable of folding paper ranging from 3 ½" x 5" up to 8 ½" x 14". Unlike some paper folding machines, the 1611 can be used to letter fold legal size 8 ½" x 14" paper. The Martin Yale 1611 can do a letter fold, half fold, Z-fold, double parallel fold and church fold. These fold settings are marked on the fold plates.
Setting up this machine takes very little time. Simply find the fold you want to create on the fold plate, corresponding with the correct paper size, and slide the fold plate to line up with the fold. This needs to be done on both of the folding plates. Once the folding plates have been properly adjusted, simply insert your paper and turn on the machine.
One huge benefit of the 1611 is the powered exit conveyor with stacking wheels. This helps to slow down paper as it exits the machine and organize it into a stack. This is far more organized than a simple catch tray.
The 1611 also has a feed table bypass that will allow you to manually insert up to 5 sheets of stapled or unstapled paper for multi-sheet folding. This is excellent for situations where you need to mail multiple sheets to a customer or client.
The Martin Yale 1611 is commonly used for folding invoices, letters, bills and other material. It can be used with paper ranging in thickness from 16# bond up to 70# index. Because it uses friction to feed paper into the machine, it is not the best option for glossy, coated or slick paper. Buy yours today!
