Model 25 Paper Drill by MBM Specifications:
Product Overview: Are you tired of punching holes in paper using a manual paper punch? Is paper punching literally taking up your entire day? Whether you simply want to improve your paper punching capabilities, or you need to punch holes through stacks of paper, you may want to consider using a paper drill. Paper drills work much like standard drill presses with a few exceptions. Paper drills use hollow drill bits to quickly single, double or triple drill through hundreds of sheets of paper at a time. One great model is the MBM Model 25 single-hole paper drill. The MBM 25 is what's known as a single spindle paper drill. This means it only has one drill bit and can only drill a single hole at a time. The good news is that it can be adjusted to drill one hole after another, making three-hole drilling extremely easy. This is a tabletop model, which means it is designed to sit on a desk, counter or table. It is a fairly compact machine, measuring in at just 14 1/8" D x 18 7/8" W x 18 1/2" H. Using this machine is really easy. What you will first want to do is set up the base for the drill pattern you want to create. This is done by turning a dial on the side of the base. The base on this drill uses guides that are self centering. The table itself actually glides back and forth on high-quality bearings. This table has been called the easy-glide table by MBM. It makes drilling multiple holes extremely easy. Once the table has been adjusted, you can place your paper on the base. Once the paper is in place, you can use the included quick release clamps to hold the paper in place. Once you have the paper in place and clamped down, you can turn the drill on and begin pulling down on the handle. This will bring the drill to the paper. As pressure is added, it begins to drill through the stack of paper. The MBM 25 can drill through up to 2" of paper at a time. As the drill bit makes its way through the paper, the drilled round particles travel up the shaft and make their way into a deposit tray found on the top of the machine. This tray can then be removed and easily emptied. From start to finish, the MBM 25 takes just a few seconds to make its way through a 2" stack of paper. This paper drill comes with a 1/4" drill bit and can be used with a 5/32", 13/64", 7/32" or with the included 1/4" bit. The MBM 25 even includes a drill bit sharpener and honing stone. For the money, this drill is an excellent value. Here are a few specifications you may find useful. It uses a 1/4 horsepower motor that runs on 115V / 60Hz. The table base measures in at 18 7/8" wide by 10" deep and it can be used with paper up to 14 3/4" wide. This means you can use this drill with standard and legal-size paper (or smaller). It has a maximum drilling throat depth of 1 3/8".
