Question:

The laminating film rolled around the roller bars and we can’t get the glue off of them. What do you suggest?

Answer:

Unfortunately, having glue on your laminator rolls is a serious problem. The glue is extremely difficult to remove. However, with a significant investment of time and effort, your laminator rollers can be repaired. First, turn your laminator on. Set it to a low temperature so that you can warm up the glue, but not burn it.

Then, take a soft cloth and wipe off as much glue as possible. You can use water during the cleaning process, but don’t use rubbing alcohol. Alcohol will dry out and crack the rubber rollers. We recommend roller cleaner rejuvenator to aid in the cleaning process. You may find a laminator cleaning kit helpful as well. Just a word of caution here, do not use any sharp objects. A pair of scissors, razor blade, or knife will permanently damage the rollers.

When you’re done, will likely notice that your laminator rollers are discolored, or faded. But not to worry. Your laminator should still perform without any significant drop off in performance.
